Leslie arrested over rape allegation

The former Blue Peter and This Morning presenter John Leslie was arrested last night over a rape allegation dating back nearly thirteen years.

Leslie, 43, has previously been investigated and cleared over separate rape charges. Officers say he was called into a London police station last night over an allegation of rape and indecent assault on a woman in November 1995. He was interviewed and bailed until late August while police make further inquiries.

David Anthony Stuart was arrested in Accrington in July 2004 in possession of 20,000 ecstasy tablets and subsequently failed to attend his trial at Preston Crown Court in June 2005.
