Three guilty of murder in disturbed Kent burglary

[12th March 2008]

Two 19-year olds and a 16-year old have been found guilty of murdering a man, who disturbed them burgling his house in Whitstable.

Mark Witherall, 47, died five weeks after the three burglars repeatedly punched and kicked him outside his home in Whitstable, Kent.

The three went to a party attended by Mr Witherall's partner, Sally George. They stole her house keys when she wasn't looking and let themselves into her house. Mr Witherall, who was asleep inside, woke up and chased them out of the house. The group kicked and punched him and proceeded to steal items from the house.
