Sixth sex attack in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire

A sixth attack has been reported in the town of Wellingborough following a series of earlier sex attacks, police have confirmed [1 March 2012].

Detective Mark Pattison said: "Officers are working round the clock to find the offender and ensure the safety of the public in Wellingborough."

The latest incident was on 30 January and involved a 24-year-old female victim. The woman was attacked whilst walking alone on Cannon Street at approximately 10.15am.

She was grabbed by a man who is described as white and aged in his late teens to early 20s. The attacker has been known to cover his face during the incidents.

The five other sex attacks involved a man indecently assaulting his victims after exposing himself.

Police urged women to avoid walking alone at night in the area.
