Arrests in two fatal London stabbings
[14th May 2008]
Two teenagers have been arrested in relation to the murder of Steven Bigby in Oxford Street and a 19-year has been arrested for the Jimmy Mizen murder.
Detectives have arrested an 18 and a 19-year old in connection with the murder of 22-year old Steven Bigby, who was fatally stabbed outside a Mcdonald's restaurant on Oxford Street on Monday. A post-mortem examination revealed that Mr Bigby died from a single stab wound to the heart. Police believe that the attack was a spontaneous incident, rather than being a gang-related crime.
A 19-year old man has also been arrested in connection with the murder of 16-year old Jimmy Mizen in a bakery shop in South-East London on Saturday. Police say that Jimmy encountered his attacker before he went into the Three Cooks bakery in Burnt Ash, who ordered him to fight outside the shop. After Jimmy refused, the attacker broke some glass and stabbed Jimmy in the neck with a shard of glass.
