Corpse exhumed in DNA search

[20 May 2008]

The headless corpse of a woman found 33-years ago has been exhumed by police in an attempt to discover her identity and that of her killer.

The corpse was found dressed in a pink nightdress near Swaffham in Norfolk in 1974. She was never formally identified, but police hope that scientific advances will now help them to identify her. Police are also appealing to the public to get in touch if they have not seen a relative of loved one since 1974.
