Graphic knife crime wounds used in campaign - Image courtesy of the Home OfficeThe government have launched a hard-hitting advertising campaign with the aim of showing the true consequences of carrying a knife.

Graphic images show real injuries inflicted by knives and include an image of a knife in someone's chest and deep, open wounds. The adverts were designed by teenagers as the Home Office want children who carry knives to think about what could happen if their weapon was used on them.

The 3-year, £3million campaign includes newspaper and radio adverts and two 'viral' internet videos. The videos include shocking images taken from a medical photo library and CCTV footage performed by actors of a knife stabbing in a shopping street.
