Man held over fatal stabbing

A man has been arrested in connection with the death of a reveller following a house party in Greater Manchester. [8 May 2012]

Officers were called to a house in Rutland Road in Tyldesley, at 3am on Tuesday and discovered a 23-year-old man with serious wounds to his torso. He later died in hospital.

Police said they had arrested a 23-year-old man on suspicion of murder.

He is in custody and being questioned in relation to the incident, which police believe took place following a party on Devon Road.

After the attack, police stepped up their presence in the area and urged the local community to talk with officers.
