Parents of Romanian trafficked children come to UK

[29th January 2008]

The parents of five children who were taken into care last week after the Romanian gang raids in Berkshire, are travelling to England to be reunited with their children. It's believed that poor families surrendered their children to organised crime networks in exchange for money.

The dawn raids occurred last Thursday after months of planning and close work with the Romanian authorities. 'Operation Caddy' was planned to disrupt these serious criminals who were involved in child trafficking, theft and street robbery.
