Arsonist gets jail term

[1 October 2008]

An arsonist, aged 21, has been jailed indefinitely after he started fires at houses and then told fleeing residents he had called 999.

Paul Hambleton was found guilty of nine counts of arson. Police found that Hambleton had started nine fires in two months and was finally arrested in Greater Manchester. The court had also been informed that one of the fires Hambleton started had a couple and their six year old child still inside. Fortunately no-one weas injured.
