Man charged with causing death of six-year-old

The man who hit a young girl with his van has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving.

Six-year-old Demi Leigh Royle was walking home from a shop on Friday when she was hit by a van. Demi was accompanied by a family friend and the friend's daughter while walking along Astley Road, Huyton. According to police, the man drove into Demi's path after he turned off Hillside Avenue. The man was charged on Sunday.
