Retired principal pleads not guilty to girl's assault

[3 June 2008]

Dominic McElholm, 69, was charged with 10 counts of indecent assault on a young girl, but pleaded not guilty.

The offences are alleged to have occurred between January and December 2005. After appearing at Dungannon Crown Court this morning, Mr McElholm was released on bail and allocated an October trial. Mr McElholm, from Knock-na Moe Heights, is the former headmaster of a primary school and is ex-chairman of the Western Education and Library Board.
