Man tortured for bank card codes
A burglar may have tortured a businessman to death so he would give the codes to his bank cards. [6 November 2009]
Detectives revealed the new information after they released CCTV footage of the suspect trying to withdraw money from the bank account of Alan Wood. The 50-year-old victim was stabbed to death in his home in Bourne, Lincolnshire, on 24 October.

CCTV footage shows the suspect trying to withdraw money from cash points on eleven different occasions during the three days after Mr Wood went missing, although he was only successful in withdrawing cash twice. It is unknown whether Mr Wood gave the attacker the wrong PIN numbers on purpose, which may have led to the man returning to Mr Wood's property to continue the attack.
