Growing heroin problem in Dundee

In recent years heroin has become significantly easier to get hold of in Dundee, according to a senior police officer.

Ch Supt Colin McCashey has admitted concerns about the increased number of used needles in the streets and the rising level of crime committed by addicts. He said that many people who come into custody of Tayside Police are there because they have addictions that they can't afford without committing crime. The drug abuse also leads to other crimes, like robbery. The officer wants people of the community to report any information in order to help get rid of drug dealing in the area.
