Men caught with pirated CDs ordered to pay £400,000

[12th March 2008]

Two men caught by Stranraer port police with thousands of illegal CDs, have been ordered to pay £400,000 under the proceeds of crime act.

This is the largest sum to be paid for this crime type in Scotland to date. Both men were found guilty of copyright offences last week. The men will be investigated separately by the tax authorities.
