New government strategy to conquer drug problems

The Scottish Government has a new strategy in the fight against the country's drug problems.

According to the government, if put into action the plan would put emphasis on “recovery and helping people live drug-free lives”. MSPs are debating and voting on the plan next week. It's estimated that the drug problem costs Scotland £2.6bn a year, partly because of the crime committed to feed the addictions. The new plan would focus on drug education, new treatment and recovery strategies, and focusing on the individual drug abuser instead of drug addicts as a whole.
