London to get youth crime money

Some local authorities in London will be offered a share of £56.5million from the government to help tackle youth crime.

The money will be offered to 13 local authorities through the Youth Crime Action Plan, and will help to fund youth workers and combat gangs. It is part of the government's wider plan to intervene sooner and to prevent young people from becoming involved in a life of crime in the first instance. The money will also help young people who have been in trouble to rebuild their lives.
