Rape compensation still goes unpaid

Full compensation has still not been paid in full to victims who had their payouts reduced because they had been drinking when attacked.
At least 23 victims had their compensation incorrectly cut over the last three years. A further 16 victims also have yet to have the rest of their compensation paid because they have failed to come forward. The Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority have said that victims must make the first move, as the authority making contact with victims may be unwelcome because of the emotive nature of the incidents.
