Run for justice. Run for safety. Run for Crimestoppers.
[September 2008]
Crimestoppers is looking for people to run in the 2009 Flora London Marathon to raise vital funds for the charity.
The 26.2 mile marathon, which takes place on Sunday 26 April 2009, is open to all, but only one in five people who apply for a coveted place first time get picked to take part. The charity has a small number of Gold Bond places available which guarantee runners a place at the start. But even if you already have your own place you can still run for Crimestoppers.
Whether you are an experienced long distance runner or a relative beginner wanting to push yourself to the limit, joining the Crimestoppers team will provide you with a real incentive – by raising money and awareness for the charity you are helping to make your community safer.
All Crimestoppers asks is a commitment from each runner to raise £1,250, although many surpass this target. Our dedicated events team will support you throughout your marathon experience, providing guidance in fundraising, top tips in preparing for the big day, enthusiastic supporters at cheering points along the way and a Crimestoppers running vest to wear with pride as you cross the finish line.
In 2008, Crimestoppers had 26 dedicated individuals crossing the line in the Flora London Marathon. They came from all walks of life – from police officers to graphic designers – and live as far apart as London and Aberdeen. Between them they raised over £35,000 to help solve crimes.
For more details on how to secure your place, request more information from Crimestoppers' events team or call us on 020 8254 3200.
