A woman has been arrested on suspicion of child neglect after six children were rescued from a fire.

A fire started in the Oldham property late on Tuesday night. Firefighters broke into the house and pulled the children, aged between eight months and 11 years, to safety. All children were treated in hospital after breathing in smoke and were later discaharged. It is believed the fire started in a pan on the cooker in the kitchen. The 36-year old woman remains in police custody for questioning.
