Funding to help youth crime fight

[16 September 2008]

The city of Bristol is to receive up to £700,000 within a two year span as part of a government initiative to reduce youth crime.

Targeting 69 local authorities, the announcement for funding follows publication of the Youth Crime Action Plan in June. Bristol will immediately receive £65,000 for a number of safety projects and support for families. Also, in areas where anti-social behavior is particularly a concern, they will be receiving an additional £25,000 to provide positive activies for Friday and Saturday nights.
