Children and man's death in car remains a mystery

[16 June 2008]

Investigations are still under way into the death of two children and a man who were found in a Land Rover off a hillside road in Conwy Valley.

The man, in his 50s, is thought to be the children's father and the boy and girl were both under the age of 10. Police were called to the scene on Sunday after a passer-by spotted the car parked on a road leading from the A470 between Tal-y-cafn and Maenan. The trio, who had been missing since Saturday night, is thought to be from Runcorn in Chesire. Police are treating the deaths of the children as suspicious but are not looking for anyone in connection.
