Dyfed-Powys safest place in the UK

[1st February 2008]

New figures from the Home Office have revealed that the Dyfed-Powys area in Wales was matched only by Cumbria for having the lowest murder rate in the UK.

Over the last five years, both Dyfed-Powys and Cumbria have reported 16 homicides. Dyfed-Powys has one of the UK's lowest annual murder rates, with four murders for every one million people in 2006/07.
