Anti-gun campaigner and mother stabbed to death

The woman who set up a Leeds branch of Mothers Against Guns was found stabbed to death at a flat in West Yorkshire.

53-year-old Pat Regan's body was discovered on Sunday at a flat on Marlborough Grange in the Hyde Park area of Leeds. A 20-year-old-man, a family member of Mrs Regan's, has been arrested. Mrs Regan set up a Leeds branch of Mothers Against Guns after her son died of gunshot wounds in 2002. Mother-of-six, she was a strong campaigner against gun crime, even meeting with government officials about the problem. According to police, post-mordem tests will soon take place.
