MANHUNT returned to ITV on 29th May 2007 following overwhelming public response to the first show which helped lead to four arrests!

Crime programme Manhunt returned to ITV1 for a second live 90 minute show on Tuesday 29th May 2007.

Following the first Manhunt programme produced by Talkback Thames which was broadcast last December, response from viewers giving anonymous information to the charity Crimestoppers has helped police in securing an incredible four arrests in connection to the ten serious crimes featured on the show. The programme led to Crimestoppers receiving their biggest response to date to a TV appeal in getting a staggering 9,000 calls in a two hour period.

Mark Austin and Sarah Heaney once again hosted the show, which profiled ten new stories of the UK's most wanted, and appealed for viewers to help in finding them. Manhunt is produced in conjunction with the charity Crimestoppers who will receive anonymous information from viewers via their phone line and website.

The ten individuals featured in this studio based show are wanted in connection with a wide range of serious crimes including gun trafficking, drug smuggling, murder, rape, fraud, causing death by dangerous driving as well as more everyday crime- burglary, cash point fraud, a conman and woman.

A mixture of reconstructions, CCTV footage, dynamic studio items, interviews with criminal psychologists and victims were used to present each case in detail. Working in conjunction with Crimestoppers, Mark and Sarah appealed to viewers with information to call the show. Viewers were also able to read about the cases and give information anonymously via Crimestoppers' online form at www.crimestoppers-uk.org/manhunt. Information will be passed onto investigating police forces.

As well as trying to catch our ten featured individuals, Manhunt highlighted ways in which you can prevent yourself becoming a victim of crime. Presenter Sarah Heaney took to the streets to show us the latest high-tech identity theft techniques and how exactly credit card fraud takes place and gave us street-wise advice on how to avoid being targeted.
