Crimestoppers and The Sun offer £100k for information to help bring justice for Northern Ireland's recent atrocities
Crime-fighting charity, Crimestoppers, and Britain's biggest selling newspaper, The Sun, have teamed up to offer a £100,000 reward for information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrator(s) who murdered two British soldiers and a PSNI (Police Service Northern Ireland) police officer in Northern Ireland recently.
Sappers, Mark Quinsey, 23, from Birmingham and Patrick Azimkar, 21, from London, were shot dead at Massereene Army base, Antrim on Saturday 07 March 2009. Then on Monday 09 March 2009 Constable Stephen Paul Carroll, 48, from the Banbridge area of County Down was shot dead in Co Armagh.
Mick Laurie, Crimestoppers' Chief Executive said: “People in the community will know who carried out these atrocities and they may not be able to tell the police for fear of retribution. Crimestoppers is not part of the police, we can guarantee anonymity, no one will ever know who has called as we don't record or trace calls and we don't take names. All Crimestoppers needs is any information the public can give us, which will help the police arrest these perpetrators and you could claim this cash reward.
“We are very proud of the working relationship we have with the media in the fight against crime, so we are delighted that one of Britain's leading newspapers has made such a tremendous donation. This clearly highlights The Sun's dedication to help make communities safer and to help bring justice to these victims' families. We strongly urge anyone with information about these crimes to call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
Crimestoppers rewards are paid anonymously.
