Woman wanted for serious assault on bus driver hands herself in

Crime-fighting charity, Crimestoppers, can confirm that a woman has handed herself in following an appeal for information on a serious assault on a bus driver in Haringey, north London. [4 December 2009]

Mick Laurie, Crimestoppers' Chief Executive said: “A huge thank you must go to the media for the vital role they played in publicising this wanted individual. This is a fantastic result.”

Chief Superintendent Joe Royle Safer Transport Command Met Police said: "I would like to thank the media for their coverage on this appeal. After a long and detailed investigation, the media coverage was key in securing this excellent outcome."

The announcement of a £10,000 reward from Crimestoppers and bus operators, Arriva London, for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for the assault was released on 2 December 2009.
