Last month, we launched a project in Southwark to help
lead young people away from the violent gang culture that has claimed
so many lives. The launch event at the Ministry of Sound was attended
by our inspirational Crimestoppers Community Champions, including Chris
Preddie, as well as Choice FM's 'Peace on the Streets' team and
beatboxer Faith SFX. Read about the success we've had in tackling gun and knife crime in Southwark

Two British criminals have been arrested in Spain, after we launched ten new Operation Captura appeals in January.
Together with the Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA), we're
appealing for information concerning British criminals believed to be
on the run in the Costa del Sol region of Spain. Visit the Most Wanted section of our website to see more 'Costa criminals' we're appealing for information about
See some new Most Wanted appeals on the website:
Abduction and rape
- These two men abducted a 40-year old woman from Cardiff and took her
to a secluded lane in Leckwith Green in a large red saloon car, where
they attacked her.
Masked armed robber - This
person entered a Ladbrokes betting shop in a residential area in
Suffolk, brandishing a silver handgun at a lone employee, demanding
money.

When
authorities appear to treat famous drug-users, such as Amy Winehouse
and Pete Doherty leniently, it glamourises narcotics abuse to young
people, according to the International Narcotics Control Board (INCB).
In their annual report released this month, the INCB have stated that
we should be targeting drug-rings and large criminal gangs, rather than
low-level street dealers that government policies tend to favour. What
do you think? Are young people influenced by celebrities like Amy
Winehouse, or do they make up their own minds about drugs? Vote in our
poll!
