Volunteering

Volunteering is integral to the success of Crimestoppers.

As a charity, our volunteers really make a difference. The hard work and talents of our 400 plus volunteers across the country mean that our anonymous phone number, 0800 555 111, is promoted incredibly successfully.

Consequently, our volunteers play a significant role in helping communities fight the fear that criminals can impose upon them.

Examples of publicity campaigns designed by some of our volunteers:

Did you know...?

Our volunteers contribute approximately 42,000 hours of work to the charity Crimestoppers each year

The impact our volunteers make can be seen in the statistics:

  • In 2006/07 Crimestoppers received over 80,000 calls which led to the recovery of over £4million worth of stolen goods and £7million worth of illegal drugs
  • On average someone is arrested for murder every 5 days, thanks to information given to Crimestoppers

Our volunteers have helped to make this possible, by making sure that more people know about our anonymous phone number, 0800 555 111, where they can pass on information about crime.
