Cumbria

Welcome to Cumbria Crimestoppers.

Cumbria Crimestoppers is dedicated to helping solve crimes and taking criminals off the streets in Cumbria, which includes Allerdale, Barrow, Carlisle, Copeland, Eden and South Lakeland.

The Cumbria Crimestoppers Board consists of 19 members of the local community, who give up their free time to co-ordinate promotions and events to help raise awareness of the anonymous Crimestoppers phone number, 0800 555 111.

We rely on a network of volunteers to help us with this work. In Cumbria we also:

  • Organise fundraising events
  • Run campaigns to raise issues facing our local communities
  • Recruit volunteers - you could make a difference and help prevent crime in Cumbria by becoming a Crimestoppers volunteer

Coronation Street's William Roache supports CrimestoppersCoronation Street star William Roache supports Crimestoppers
Coronation Street star William Roache MBE has been supporting Crimestoppers in the North West for almost ten years. William worries about the number of people who are in difficult situations because members of their family are involved in crime. That's why he's such a keen supporter of Crimestoppers - to make sure such people know that they can call the charity to pass on information about crime completely anonymously. Read the full case study about William Roache.

Cumbria Crimestoppers - It's your callIt's your call
Aimed at raising the awareness of Crimestoppers to the younger community in our region, we are promoting the 'It's your call' campaign to schools across the region. 'It's your call' is a DVD aimed at teenagers, highlighting the dangers of crime and how they can help.
